Hey Ladies!

Do you:

  • Spend a lot of time engaging in negative thinking? And then telling yourself that you “should” be positive?
  • Struggle with negative emotions and tell yourself that you “should” be grateful, forgiving, kind etc.?
  • Feel stressed and frustrated when your family doesn’t seem to be getting along
  • Get triggered when your children appear to be not listening to you?
  • Feel angry when family members criticize you or take you for granted?
  • Feel frustrated when you and your husband are not the same page (especially since all the parenting books seem to be telling you that you “should” be)
  • Do you attend a lot of lectures and seminars telling you how to be the perfect mom and spouse then find yourself falling short again and again?

If so, you know that you are not alone, right?

Many of us have been there . . .

Here is how Maria describes her experience . . .

I remember when I moved to North America with three young children having no idea how to navigate the challenges of parenting in the 21st century.

Everyone around me seemed to have it all together . . .

I remember sharing how scared I was of messing up this most important job with a group of women and instead of being validated, I felt judged and looked down upon. This reconfirmed by fears . . . I was the worst mother ever!

Plus I had a sneaking suspicion that my marriage was “on the rocks”. My husband and I were definitely NOT on the same page when it came to parenting (or dealing with his family).

Of course, I loved my children and (sometimes) my husband. So why could not I remain calm when they did not listen, when they did not do what they were supposed to? Why did I feel defeated when my husband and I did not appear to be on the same page about important parenting decisions? Why did small things trigger me, and then I react and feel bad about myself?

I felt SO alone. Nobody around me seemed to understand. I was often ashamed of my behaviour with my children.

Here’s the thing though. When I felt bad about myself, I was an even worse mother!!

Does this story remind you of your own journey as a mother?

If so, please know that you do NOT need another program to tell you how to manage your marriage or how to parent better! Or even on how to “think positive”.

How about learning to be kind to yourself, focusing on your own happiness and wellbeing so that you can be a better mom, spouse and friend (to yourself and others)?

Here is a program that can help you!

Master your mental and emotional wellbeing and nurture a calm, centered and positive disposition despite the everyday challenges that surround you

I suspect you are already reading books and listening to sessions on parenting and on family relationships. You already know so many theories about raising children and about making relationships work that you could almost write a book yourself!!

You may be beginning to suspect that the answer is not to focus on the children, on your spouse or your in-laws but rather on yourself . . .

You have definitely made progress in this regard. But you find yourself backsliding again and again. Sometimes you think that you have made no progress at all. The guilt of acting out with your family gets to you. The anger and resentment that you hold within is beginning to take its toll, mentally emotionally and even physically.

You see others who are happy, calm and productive and seem to have it altogether and you ask yourself why you cannot have the perfect family that these moms have? Why are you not able to “hold it all together”?

If this describes you, then you are in the right place and I have some good news for you.

I want to present to you a group coaching program for women just like you.

By the end of the Master Your Mental and Emotional Wellbeing  coaching program, you will have…

Transformed your perspective, the way you think.

Imagine conquering your negative thinking. Knowing how to disengage from unhelpful thoughts. We know that our thoughts create our world. If we change our thinking we change our life.

Calmed the internal storm.

Learn how to get back to centre after being upset or challenged by a distressing event. Life is too short to spend so much time being triggered and having negative emotions, don’t you think?

Act according to your values.

Would you like to be in charge of your own actions rather than react to other people’s actions, agendas and moods? Imagine conquering your triggers, learning to respond to others in accordance with your values rather than on their behaviour.

Discover what your purpose and mission is, and create a life of meaning

Imagine waking up everyday and knowing why you are on this planet, what you need to do. Imagine waking up with energy and excitement, looking forward to working on your mission and sharing your gifts with the world. Only when we live in alignment with our purpose and our values can we achieve true wellbeing. Discovering this takes some skill though.

Transform your relationship with yourself and others.

Imagine quieting the negative voices in your head, your self criticism and self doubt. Imagine having unshakeable trust and confidence in yourself, knowing that you are up to the challenges that life throws at you, that you have the courage and resilience to face life head on, that you have mastered the art of bouncing back from adversity and challenge, in fact, you are bouncing back stronger from challenges and becoming stronger.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

I had the great honour of attending a weekend workshop with Marzia Hassan this weekend at a spiritual retreat. Not only was it loads of fun but educational, inspiring and therapeutic.

Within minutes of coming home last night, I received very very sad news about a very loved member of my family. I immediately categorized it in my head as an external stressor and thought , "oh crap this is what I learned about all weekend and now is the test of how I handle this!"

Typically, I would have cried and picked up the phone to vent to a dear friend. I was shocked at how I handled things. In fact, my husband was even more shocked. I did not weep nor did I pick up the phone. I listened, did not judge and reassured my loved one that I will always be there no matter what happens. Soon maghrib time approached and I got right on my prayer mat at fazilat time and recited my Adhaan and Iqamah, which I never do! I finished my prayers and then sat on my musala and talked to my dear Lord. I kept trying to remind myself of the quote we spoke about from the Holy Quran which says, "after all hardship comes ease".

I got up this morning feeling very anxious and started to recognize what stress is doing to my body. I right way identified the feelings of guilt, fatigue and aches and pain. I am working on applying the 5 steps of managing stress and trying to reduce the negative constant chatter going through my head.

If I had this news presented to me before coming to this retreat I know that I would have cancelled. But instead Allah's timing was such that it happened the night I left and I was able to attend.

Not only attend, but use the knowledge, ideas and spiritual satisfaction that I received to help me cope. This is the first time that I thought to write as opposed to vent to a person. It is truly and interesting experience!

I am proud of how I have handled this stressful situation and amazed at how much I have been able to apply from what I learned this weekend. This retreat was a gift from Allah (swt) to me. Thank you Allah, Marzia for making yesterday night a bearable experience. Only Allah (saw) can and will reward you and your families with good health, happiness and strength to continue spreading the message of Islam. In return, please pray for me and my family.

"Marzia Hassan engages her audience to a point where they end up searching for all what she has had to say..be it in the form of a lecture, a workshop, a blog post or a podcast.

Her lectures engage you in such a way that you can see yourself making inroads to new thinking, her interactive approach makes you a part of the process, so much so that at the end you look around and the sky is more blue than the one you saw a while ago and you smile with the wisdom that has been shared with you by this humble soul. There has never been a dull moment when you listen to her as the language is simple enough to be understood by all, which is the mark of a good speaker who can appeal to everyone.

The best thing about Marzia is that she will go a full circle of whatever she is telling you about… it might be psychology but it will be backed by religion and walled by Science… which is rare with the speakers of today.

Not many spiritual speakers do that… they will either support their lectures by mystical knowledge, psychology or religion. Mariza goes a step forward and up to the finish line where her listener will not only see Quranic evidence, but also Hadith and psychology and science, all in one."

"Mrs. Hassan’s overall calm, comforting nature, and her plethora of knowledge on mental health and self-care was outstanding and eye opening. Her delivery of information was thorough, yet relaxed, and although many viewers had never heard Mrs. Hassan speak they felt as though they were listening to an old friend. She proved to be exactly what we were looking for; a strong, female role model with an impressive educational background and various professional titles. She inspired the ladies who tuned into the webinar, and held their attention for the entirety of her session."
